Strategy[edit]
Gameplay Strategy[edit]
Arguably one of the strongest Gandalfs ever released, Wise Guide is a popular choice in Expanded format. His powerful ability to block any event played is particularly useful in blocking Saruman's Power (1U136) support area sweeps and Sudden Strike (15U51) minion fetching. His ability to do these things is accentuated by the massive amount of vitality boosters in the Gandalf culture, such as Narya (3R34) and Shadowfax, Greatest of the Mearas (17R24) . Used alongside condition heavy fellowships with powerful effects, or with fellowships that exert for their abilities, this Gandalf could be the perfect fit to protect your fellowship.
Deckbuilding Strategy[edit]
- Ithilien Blade (15C62) decks that are exert-heavy and vulnerable to Hate (1R250) .
- Decks that rely on conditions
- Decks that generate twilight, i.e. Ents, and are vulnerable to Sudden Strike (15U51)
